Singer and actress Jisuyeon recently returned to the music broadcast stage, showcasing her unique vocal color.
Jisuyeon appeared on MBC Every1 and MBC M’s ‘Show Champion’ on the afternoon of the 7th to perform her track ‘Blue Screen.’
‘Blue Screen,’ released as a single on April 29, is a song that captures the confusion of the ego and the sensation of emotions freezing over. It musically embodies the feeling of slowly disappearing in everyday life or wandering far away while leaving oneself behind.
Jisuyeon participated directly in the lyric writing and composition of the song, infusing her own personal story. Producer Cloud also collaborated on the lyrics, composition, and overall arrangement to elevate the track’s completion. In particular, restrained sounds and spatial elements were utilized to express emotional voids, vividly highlighting Jisuyeon’s distinct musical identity.
Taking the stage, Jisuyeon expressed the emotions of ‘Blue Screen’ with calm yet delicate vocals. She conveyed the confusion and emptiness found in the lyrics with an unexaggerated tone, maximizing the song’s lonely atmosphere. Delivering steady live vocals even during a broadcast, she proved her strong presence as a talented vocalist.
At the end of the performance, she caught attention with a witty ending pose. Jisuyeon showed a handwritten message reading ‘EP coming out 11/4′ on her palm directly to the camera, promoting her upcoming new music. She delivered news of her upcoming release with a lovely charm distinct from her calm stage, further heightening fans’ expectations.
Beyond music, she is also actively engaged in musical theater. Jisuyeon returned to the musical ‘Caffeine’ last August after a two-year hiatus, showcasing lovely romantic comedy acting and stable live singing skills. Ranging across genres, she displays versatile charms by expressing her own stories through song on music broadcasts and portraying characters’ emotions and narratives in musicals.
Meanwhile, Jisuyeon is currently preparing new music. As she consistently participates in writing and composing her own tracks to tell her stories through music, anticipation is rising for what kind of new looks she will present with her upcoming EP in November.
