JM Solution and its operating company, GP Club, have officially denied widespread online rumors connecting the cosmetics brand to former BIGBANG member Seungri and the infamous Burning Sun scandal. In an official statement released via Instagram, the company addressed false claims circulating across South Korean social media and online communities.
Past Business Plans and Clarification of Ownership
GP Club clarified that while they previously considered a business proposal from Seungri’s side to establish a separate entity called JM Town, the plan was entirely scrapped before operations began following the outbreak of the Burning Sun scandal. JM Town was dissolved and liquidated in 2019 without generating any sales or revenue. The company firmly emphasized that Seungri holds zero investment, equity, or involvement in the planning, manufacturing, or distribution of JM Solution products.
Legal Action and Apology Over Past Association
Addressing false claims that JM Solution is ‘Seungri’s company’ or funded by Burning Sun money, GP Club announced plans to take strong legal action through its legal team and external law firms against the repeated spread of malicious misinformation. While denying any current ties, the company expressed deep regret that past judgment regarding JM Town caused concern among consumers and business partners. Seungri officially retired from the entertainment industry following the 2019 Burning Sun scandal and completed a 1.5-year prison sentence before his release in February 2023.
