More Than Music: Generous JYP Entertainment Donation Funds Lifeline for Pediatric Patients

K-pop powerhouse JYP Entertainment donation initiatives are making waves once again, proving that the agency is committed to hitting all the right notes both on and off the stage. The music giant officially announced a generous contribution of 100 million won ($66,300) to support pediatric rehabilitation.

On May 19, executives from the agency joined forces with the Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital to sign a formal partnership. This newly established fund is specifically earmarked to alleviate financial burdens for families with disabled children and to purchase cutting-edge assistive medical devices for young patients aged 24 or under.

Expanding Support Beyond Surgery into Long-Term Rehabilitation

While many corporate charities focus primarily on immediate surgeries, this latest JYP Entertainment donation looks at the bigger picture: long-term recovery. The partnership ensures that financially vulnerable children can receive continuous, uninterrupted rehabilitation therapies, which are often costly and prolonged.

“Beyond the support for treatment and surgeries, we decided to establish a partnership to make our support continue into rehabilitation,” stated Byun Sang-bong, Chief Financial Officer of the agency, during the signing ceremony. “I hope our support will help broaden the reach of this positive influence.”

Lee Ji-sun, the head of Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital, expressed immense gratitude for the timely aid, promising that every won will be used transparently to cover medical expenses and vital equipment purchases for families in desperate need.

The “EDM” Philosophy: Why Every Dream Matters to JYP

This heartwarming contribution is far from a one-time publicity stunt. It is the latest milestone in the agency’s dedicated corporate social responsibility project known as EDM, which stands for “Every Dream Matters.”

Since rolling out the EDM initiative in 2020, the entertainment giant—home to global superstars like TWICE, Stray Kids, and ITZY—has donated an incredible 7.9 billion won to healthcare causes. To date, the project has directly benefited 4,101 young patients across 10 different nations worldwide, including South Korea. By focusing on pediatric care, the agency is actively helping the next generation chase their dreams without being held back by medical hardships.
