K-pop AI character chat โ€” Krafton Launches ‘Kiff’ App

K-pop AI character chat

South Korean gaming giant Krafton has officially launched K-pop AI character chat service ‘Kiff’ in the domestic market, marking a major step forward in its AI business expansion.

Meet FIFTY FIFTY Through Kiff

Developed and operated by Krafton, Kiff allows fans to enjoy interactive experiences by conversing with characters conceptualized directly by their favorite artists. The AI characters remember and reflect user preferences and past conversations, proactively initiating chats or following up on the latest artist news. Additionally, the app features an automatic picture diary generation tool based on the day’s conversations. Users can switch between a text-centered chat mode and a character mode that enables real-time visual interaction with the onscreen avatar.

The Debut of ‘WENNY’

The first artist to participate in Kiff is the girl group FIFTY FIFTY, managed by Attrakt. The members personally participated in everything from persona planning to external design, creating the official character ‘WENNY’. A two-part video series documenting the character creation process is being sequentially released through the official Kiff YouTube channel.

Availability and Subscription Options

Kiff is available in Korean for users aged 14 and older on both iOS and Android applications. While basic conversation features are provided free of charge, a subscription service is available for users seeking unlimited chat access. Park Jae-min, head of Krafton’s AI Frontier Division, stated, ‘Drawing on our know-how in researching natural communication between game characters and users, we have created a way for fans to experience artist worldviews more closely. Starting with Kiff, we plan to expand participating artists and broaden our AI business into the global market.’
