Kang Hye-won Joins Kim Se-jeong in Upcoming TVING Original Series ‘High School Queen’

Actress Kang Hye-won is set to star alongside Kim Se-jeong, Bae Hyun-sung, and Cho Han-gyul in the upcoming TVING original series ‘High School Queen’. According to reports on the 27th, Kang Hye-won will appear in ‘High School Queen’, scheduled for release in 2027.

‘High School Queen’ is a refreshing action-romance drama based on the Naver webtoon of the same name. It tells the story of Kim 청하, Joseon’s greatest warrior and Queen Consort, who wakes up 400 years later in the body of a high school bullying victim. She delivers satisfying payback to villains with her royal dignity and overwhelming martial arts skills, while seeking out the dreams and love she could not fulfill in her past life.

While Kim Se-jeong takes on the female lead role of Kim Cheong-ha, Bae Hyun-sung joins as Sung Won-ju, a royal guard devoted to Cheong-ha, and kendo club ace Sung Si-woo. Actor Cho Han-gyul plays the dual roles of Lee Nyeong, the absolute ruler of Joseon, and Lee Do-yoon, a mysterious transfer student.

Having debuted as a member of IZ*ONE in 2018, Kang Hye-won transitioned to acting in 2021 with the web drama ‘Best Mistake 3’. She has since built a solid filmography by appearing in various dramas including ‘Youth Blossom’, ‘Boyhood’, ‘Player 2: Master of Swindlers’, ‘Pyramid Game’, and more, successfully shedding the idol-turned-actor label and establishing herself as a promising 20-something actress with boundless potential.
