[OSEN=Kang Seo-jung] The KBS Drama Special 2026 ‘Sound:Track’ has raised anticipation for its upcoming broadcast by revealing the diverse relationships and warm moments contained within its eight short dramas.
Premiering at 9:50 PM on the 18th, KBS Drama Special 2026 ‘Sound:Track’ weaves stories of love, farewell, and growth starting from ‘that song’ everyone has encountered at least once in their lives. Continuing a 42-year legacy of single-episode dramas, KBS is taking on a fresh format this year by turning a single song into a complete short drama.
The second teaser video released on the 4th opens with the question, "What kind of music plays in your day?" This is followed by the phrase, "Eight heartwarming stories told through music," as key scenes from each work unfold in succession. Entangled in various relationships such as lovers, friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues, the characters flash smiles at a single brief gesture and sit together around a dining table exchanging smiles. Their everyday moments of sharing hearts stimulate curiosity about the eight stories.
First, in ‘When My Loneliness Calls You’ (directed by Kim Gyu-hyun, written by Lee Seul-bi), Jin-woo (played by Joo Jong-hyuk) smiles sheepishly at So-jung’s (played by Park Yu-rim) gesture, revealing the subtle flutter flowing between them. Detective Yoon Cho-rok (played by Lee Seung-ryong) in ‘Autumn Morning’ (directed by Kim Han-seul, written by Seol Yi-na) shows a detached yet affectionate side by serving a fried egg to colleague Na Ji-eon (played by Park Se-wan) at a restaurant.
In ‘Lies Lies Lies’ (directed by Bae Soo-kyung, written by Ma Ah-rim), Kim Ji-woo (played by Park So-yi), An Eo-jin (played by Seo Ji-hye), and Park Hee-dong (played by Seo Beom-jun) gather at one table. As Ji-woo looks at Eo-jin while drinking udon broth, Eo-jin responds with a warm smile, and Hee-dong adds a laugh, warmly coloring the ordinary meal.
Depicting a story of characters entangled in revenge, ‘Reminiscence’ (directed by Kim Gyu-hyun, written by Kang Han) features Han Se-jin (played by Im Soo-hyang) and Lee Yu-min (played by Kim Si-eun) sitting face to face and sharing laughs in a restaurant. Curiosity grows over what kind of story led the two people, entangled in complex relationships, to sit comfortably and smile together. In ‘Chronicles’ (directed by Kim Young-jun, written by Lim Eui-jung), Chun-ji (played by Lee Soo-kyung) catches attention as she smiles while watching a lively troupe of Namsadang street performers.
Capturing summer youth, ‘Bye, Summer’ (directed by Bae Soo-kyung, written by Choi Yi-kyung) shows Lee Han-gyeol (played by Seo Su-bin), Kim Hyun (played by Han Ye-ji), and Hong Su-bin (played by Jung Da-bin) having a fun time at the beach alongside the line, "I wish it stayed summer." In ‘You Than the Scent of Spring’ (directed by Kim Young-jun, written by Lee Sa-ha), Kim Na-eun (played by Woo Da-bi) nods while looking at a junk shop owner (played by Kang Ae-shim) wearing headphones. Interest gathers around the special connection the two will forge through music.
Finally, in ‘After the Play Ends’ (directed by Kim Han-seul, written by Sung Woo-jin), Ki Bong-shik (played by Kang Hong-seok) dressed in a puppy costume playfully winks at Lim Min-sung (μ νμ), who laughs upon seeing him, conveying a cheerful atmosphere. Subsequently, Koo Joon-young (played by Lee Ki-taek) raising his head and Na Hye-mi (played by Pyo Ye-jin) smiling while looking at a monitor appear in turn, raising expectations for their romance as well.
