Webtoon artist and broadcaster Kian84 recently shared his heartfelt thoughts and emotions after meeting Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise in person.
On the 14th, Kian84’s YouTube channel ‘Life84’ uploaded a video titled ‘With the World Star.’ In the episode, Kian84 met Tom Cruise, who visited South Korea to promote his latest movie ‘Digger,’ and conducted an exclusive interview.
Due to severe nervousness, Kian84 jokingly asked his first question, "Are you tired?" He stumbled through his English questions and ultimately switched back to Korean. Kian84 introduced himself to Tom Cruise by saying, "I’ve been a cartoonist for a long time, and I currently work in broadcasting and art in Korea."
Kian84 expressed his deep fan sentiment, sharing, "Since I was in elementary school, my mom used to bring home Tom Cruise video tapes. Meeting someone I’ve watched since childhood in person makes me extremely nervous."
Presenting a custom artwork he drew himself, Kian84 explained, "I drew this after watching the movie and enjoying it. He is extremely rich and wealthy, but in the end, it seemed like his most cherished friend was this particular character, so I reimagined the scene and painted it."
In response, Tom Cruise expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you. Maggie is the anchor that keeps Digger human. That’s really cool, thank you for the art." Cruise even showed off the gift on his personal social media account.
After finishing the interview sessions, Kian84 expressed, "It is such an honor to meet you like this. I feel like I’ve lived a hard and good life."
Following the interview, Kian84 voiced his regret over not being able to ask all the questions he had prepared. He remarked, "I figured a superstar was just visiting Korea, but meeting him in person proved he isn’t a superstar for nothing. I don’t know why I felt so choked up." He added, "It brought back similar feelings to when I met Teacher Junji Ito."
