Singer Kim Jong-kook recently experienced his explosive global popularity firsthand during a trip to Taiwan.
On the October 13 broadcast of the SBS Plus and MBN variety show ‘A Real Man’s Travel Method in Taiwan’, cast members Choo Sung-hoon, Kim Jong-kook, and Zico were shown enjoying their journey.
The trio visited the famous Shilin Night Market, where Kim Jong-kook was immediately recognized by fans asking for photos. The requests were so continuous that he had a hard time moving forward, leaving Choo Sung-hoon and Zico looking both amazed and slightly bitter.
The next day, the group headed out for breakfast. A female customer at the restaurant spotted Kim Jong-kook and asked if he was from ‘Running Man’. When the production team confirmed that he was indeed Kim Jong-kook from the hit show, the customer could not hide her astonishment.
Choo Sung-hoon expressed his admiration for the show’s reach, commenting, “Seeing it like this, ‘Running Man’ is really powerful.” Kim Jong-kook explained, “A lot of young people and older folks alike watch it in Taiwan, just like in Korea.”
Kim Jong-kook’s popularity did not stop there, as even the owner of another restaurant recognized him instantly.
