Korean Enoki Mushrooms Recalled Over Possible Listeria Contamination

528 Cases Affected…Consumers Urged to Return Products for Full Refund

Korean-produced enoki mushrooms are being recalled over possible contamination concerns.

IQ Produce, a produce importer and distributor based in Vernon near Downtown Los Angeles, announced a voluntary recall of its enoki mushroom products due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

The recall affects 528 cases of “IQ Produce Enoki Mushroom 150g.” The products were sold in packaging with green labels marked “Product of Korea,” and carry lot number “UI775.” The mushrooms were distributed through retail stores.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the recall was initiated after product testing detected bacteria that can cause Listeriosis. No illnesses connected to the recalled mushrooms have been reported so far.

Health officials warned that listeria infections can be especially dangerous for young children, elderly individuals, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems. Symptoms may include high fever, severe headaches, neck stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. In pregnant women, infection can lead to miscarriage or stillbirth.

Consumers who purchased the recalled mushrooms are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Questions can be directed to the company at 323-889-9301.
