With Daylight Saving Time ending on Sunday, November 1, departure and arrival times for South Korean flag carriers including Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, and Air Premia at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will change.
Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. on this day, turning clocks back one hour to 1 a.m. As a result, the time difference between Los Angeles and South Korea will increase from the existing 16 hours to 17 hours.
According to the flight schedules of each airline, Korean Air’s Incheon-bound KE018 flight departing from LA will have its departure time advanced by one hour from the original noon to 11 a.m. On the other hand, the afternoon departure flight, KE012, will maintain the same time as before at 10 p.m.
For Asiana Airlines, the OZ201 flight departing LA at 10 a.m. will be changed to depart at 9 a.m. after the end of Daylight Saving Time. The OZ203 flight at 11:50 p.m. will depart at the same time without changes.
Air Premia is also adjusting the departure times for its LA route. The YP102 flight will be moved up by one hour from 10:50 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. The YP104 flight will also be advanced by one hour from 11:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. after Daylight Saving Time ends.
Meanwhile, passengers planning to visit Korea or enter LA before and after the end of Daylight Saving Time are advised to recheck the local departure and arrival times indicated on their airline tickets.
In particular, those who have booked airport pickups or connecting flights may need to adjust their schedules according to the changed arrival times. Flight operation schedules may vary depending on the day of the week, flight date, and airline circumstances.
