Reform Party Representative Lee Jun-seok announced that he wants legal punishment for former history instructor turned YouTuber Jeon Han-gil (real name Jeon Yu-gwan), who previously raised suspicions about his academic background, stating that Jeon has failed to acknowledge his wrongdoing.

Investigation and Forwarding of False Allegations

Representative Lee Jun-seok shared on his Facebook page on the 6th that Jeon Yu-gwan had been forwarded with a recommendation for indictment by police after raising suspicions regarding his Harvard University degree.

Lee stated, “Originally, I planned not to request punishment if Jeon Yu-gwan acknowledged the facts and turned over a new leaf. However, seeing him try to maintain his pride because he probably didn’t want to lose face in the small world he created, I decided to request punishment.”

Ongoing Legal Actions Against Defamation

Lee added, “Nonsense claims, such as taking 16 classes in China, are all the same, and the stories he blabbered about on YouTube are receiving legal judgment one by one.” He further noted, “Recently, even false rumors claiming that my younger brother was the physician in charge of the older brother of President Lee Jae-myung were forwarded for indictment.”

Lee emphasized, “If you have heard these claims even once, you should now realize how low-class those YouTubers are.” He continued, “If you believed such stories simply because you heard terms like Apostilleβ€”which you probably never heard of in your lifeβ€”on YouTube, you might want to question the channels through which you acquire political information.”

Verification of Academic Records

Lee concluded by saying, “I hope that taking legal action against Jeon Yu-gwan serves as an opportunity for those raising suspicions about my academic background to reflect on themselves.”

Previously, Jeon had demanded that Lee release a diploma verified with an Apostille certification, to which Lee responded by publicly releasing his Harvard University diploma, academic transcripts, and screenshots of access to the alumni portal.
