Giving birth to natural triplets is an extraordinarily rare medical event with a probability of about 1 in 10,000. According to Kaiser Permanente South Bay Medical Center, Southern California resident Nyla Craft welcomed her newborn triplets, Elio, Elias, and Enzo, on August 18. Two of the three baby boys are identical twins, adding an even more unique dynamic to the delivery.
Healthy Newborns Defy the Odds
All three infants are reported to be in healthy condition. Together, the newborns weighed a combined 19 poundsโjust about 3 pounds shy of matching the Guinness World Record for the heaviest combined weight for triplets. The remarkable delivery highlights a rare instance of spontaneous triplet conception successfully brought to term in Southern California, as provided by Kaiser Permanente.
