NCT WISH is set to showcase a more mature side of themselves with their upcoming release, ‘I SPY’.
The group will release their fourth mini album ‘I SPY’ at 6 PM on the 12th, marking a comeback six months after their first full-length album ‘Ode to Love’ released in April.
Concept and Tracklist Details
Through teaser images, NCT WISH expressed the awkwardness of first love as a ‘Confused Boy’ and the realization that these strange feelings were indeed ‘love’ as a ‘Lover Boy’. The eccentric and unrealistic situations happening to the members playfully portray the overwhelming and diverse emotions of falling in love through the group’s unique and cheerful imagination.
The 4th mini album includes a total of six tracks with diverse charms, headlined by the title song ‘I SPY’. The title track is a hybrid dance pop song depicting the moment someone special appears and all senses are drawn toward them. The choreography highlights NCT WISH’s active growth, shifting the mood with a telescope-inspired point choreography and weighty hip-hop rhythms.
The b-sides feature ‘Hubble Time’ written by hitmaker KENZIE, the R&B ballad ‘Like A Dream’ which samples The Carpenters’ ‘Close To You’, and the electronic-based upbeat track ‘UPGRADE’ which continues the gaming-world theme from their 3rd mini album b-side ‘Videohood’.
Growing Musical Identity and Rising Popularity
Following in the footsteps of the NCT lineage and earning the title of a powerhouse for b-side tracks, NCT WISH brings high expectations for their new music, bolstered by their remarkable growth and upward trajectory.
The thematic storytelling of NCT WISH’s b-side tracks continues to evolve. While their 3rd mini album b-side ‘WICHU’ told a story of overcoming fear through someone else’s love and belief, their 1st full-length album b-side ‘Voyage’ expanded the message by embracing fear itself as a precious emotion and finding self-comfort. This continuous narrative flow heightens anticipation for the songs included in the new mini album ‘I SPY’.
Recently, NCT WISH has appeared at various university festivals including Hanyang University, Kyung Hee University, and Donguk University to deliver vibrant performances. They also absorbed the heat of festivals by performing for the third consecutive year at Japan’s representative music festival, ‘a-nation 2026’.
Having achieved the status of a triple million-seller with their 1st full-length album ‘Ode to Love’, curiosity is mounting over whether NCT WISH can achieve another career high with their 4th mini album ‘I SPY’ and what kind of reception they will receive from domestic listeners.
NCT WISH’s fourth mini album ‘I SPY’ will be released on the 12th at 6 PM.
