Park Na-rae Former Manager Arrested: Extortion and Blackmail Allegations Detailed

Comedian and television personality Park Na-rae is at the center of a major legal dispute after her former manager was formally arrested on charges of attempted extortion and blackmail.

According to reports released on July 21, 2026, police confirmed the arrest of the former manager, identified by the surname Shin, following an investigation into allegations that he threatened to spread false claims about the entertainer unless he received a massive financial payout.

Allegations: Demanding 10% Revenue and Spreading False Rumors

The legal fallout stems from allegations that Shin attempted to blackmail Park Na-rae through her one-person agency, NPark.

According to police reports, Shin demanded an amount equivalent to 10 percent of NPark’s 2024 total revenue. To compel payment, Shin allegedly threatened to falsely accuse Park of misusing company funds for personal reasons, including claims involving a former boyfriend.

In addition to the attempted extortion charges, law enforcement officials are actively investigating separate allegations that Shin embezzled approximately 30 million KRW ($20,400 USD) from the agency during his employment.

Police Forward Case Involving Multiple Ex-Managers to Prosecutors

The investigation has expanded beyond Shin alone. Police announced plans to refer both Shin and another former manager of Park Na-rae—who is also facing attempted extortion charges—to prosecutors for further indictment.

This legal confrontation follows months of disputes between Park and her former staff, during which the entertainer previously faced questioning regarding agency management procedures and related allegations.

Park Na-rae’s Agency NPark Takes Strong Legal Stance

As Park Na-rae continues her broadcast activities, her legal team and agency, NPark, are taking a firm stance against extortion, embezzlement, and malicious defamation. The referral of the case to prosecutors marks a critical turning point in protecting the artist’s reputation and financial integrity.
