PUBG: Battlegrounds has climbed to the very top of the global sales charts on the gaming platform Steam.

Krafton announced on the 7th that Battlegrounds secured the number one spot on both Steam’s global revenue aggregation chart and the Korean regional chart as of the 6th.

Steam charts calculate rankings based on total sales generated within the platform, including the base game, downloadable content (DLC), and in-game purchases. Operating on a free-to-play model, Battlegrounds continues to drive sustained global engagement through a variety of paid content.

This surge in rankings is attributed to a major update released on the 4th and a collaboration with the K-pop idol group IVE. Krafton introduced characters modeled after the six IVE members through the PC version 44.1 update, along with costumes, accessories, weapon and equipment skins, and emotes utilizing the group’s songs and choreography. In particular, a new themed space called ‘IVE Spot’ was created within the Rondo map, capturing the emotional vibe of the hit song ‘Love Dive’ music video and eliciting positive responses from users.

Celebrating its 9th anniversary of service, Battlegrounds is maintaining a long-term box office run by combining steady content expansion with creative collaborations. Demonstrating its powerful global staying power years after launch, the game surpassed 1.3 million peak concurrent users last March.
