MONSTA X member Shownu herniated disc diagnosis has led to his temporary withdrawal from upcoming scheduled activities, according to official statements.
On November 6, MONSTA X’s agency, Starship Entertainment, released an official statement through their fan platform stating, “Shownu recently visited the hospital due to back pain and underwent a detailed examination, which resulted in a diagnosis of a herniated disc.”
As a result, Shownu will not participate in several scheduled activities, including the MONSTA X EP [The Phase] release commemorative Beijing fan event and the ‘KGMA – 2026 Korea Grand Music Awards.’
The agency added, “We plan to carefully determine his participation in future schedules by closely monitoring the artist’s recovery progress and health condition, and we will guide you if any changes occur. We sincerely apologize for causing concern to fans with this sudden news. Our company will do our best to ensure the artist recovers his health through sufficient rest and treatment.”
Meanwhile, MONSTA X is scheduled to meet fans by holding their ‘The X: Nexus’ encore concert at the Inspire Arena in Incheon on November 21 and 22.
