Broadcaster Lee Eun Ji recently met actor So Ji Sub and successfully achieved her dream of becoming a ‘successful fan’ (seongdeok).
On November 4th, Gmarket’s official social media channels released a short teaser video titled ‘Lee Eun Ji’s Current Status,’ showcasing behind-the-scenes footage from an advertisement shoot.
The video features Lee Eun Ji and So Ji Sub parodying a memorable scene from the classic hit drama ‘I’m Sorry, I Love You.’ Lee Eun Ji has frequently expressed that she was a massive fan of the series back in the day, even earning a reputation as an avid viewer of the show.
Dressed in the iconic rainbow-patterned knit sweater worn by the drama’s female lead Song Eun-chae (originally played by Im Soo-jung), Lee Eun Ji could not contain her overwhelming joy after finishing the shoot with So Ji Sub, running excitedly toward the camera.
Lee Eun Ji displayed hilarious and relatable reactions, unable to believe she had actually met So Ji Sub, covering her mouth with her fist and smiling ear to ear. In another segment of the video, she gazed at So Ji Sub with her signature eye smile, her eyes practically disappearing in delight.
This campaign is part of Gmarket’s new promotional events parodying ‘I’m Sorry, I Love You,’ the hit drama starring So Ji Sub. Reprising his role as Cha Moo-hyuk 22 years after the original broadcast, So Ji Sub teamed up with comedians Kim Soo-yong, Kim Min-kyung, and Lee Eun Ji for this special collaboration.
The original series ‘I’m Sorry, I Love You’ told the tragic and intense love story of Moo-hyuk, who was adopted to Australia as a child and grew up on the streets before meeting Eun-chae. The classic drama starred So Ji Sub, Im Soo-jung, Jung Kyung-ho, Seo Ji-young, and Choi Yeo-jin.
