A massive 100-foot The Grove Christmas tree has arrived at Los Angeles’ premier shopping and entertainment destination, ‘The Grove,’ signaling the grand start of the holiday season.
According to KTLA, the giant Christmas tree arrived at The Grove in the Fairfax area on the morning of the 2nd. The tree was carefully selected from Mount Shasta in Northern California.
Marking its 25th holiday season, The Grove will host its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. on the 16th. Prior to the lighting, the tree will be meticulously decorated with 15,000 lights and 10,000 ornaments.
The lighting ceremony day will feature spectacular performances, a drone show lighting up the sky, and fireworks. In particular, for the first time this season, an artificial snow event will be held on the streets, bringing the excitement of a ‘White Christmas’ to Los Angeles residents who rarely see snow. Santa Claus will also make a direct appearance for children.
According to the organizers, famous singer Lance Bass will host the event, and a star-studded lineup including Nicole Scherzinger, Jason Mraz, Mark Ambor, Jamie Miller, American Authors, Kennedy Anderson, and JYT will take the stage for special performances. In addition, performers from the world-renowned circus troupe ‘Cirque du Soleil’s’ hit production ‘O’ will join in, heating up the atmosphere.
The event is open to the general public for free, but capacity is limited. The festival site on the day will also be filmed for broadcast programming.
Holiday events will continue even after the lighting ceremony. Starting on the 17th, a photo zone where visitors can take commemorative photos with Santa Claus will operate, and the artificial snow event will run twice daily at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. from the 17th until January 3 of next year. On December 5, a ‘Santa Brunch’ event where guests can dine with Santa will also be held at ‘Alma Cocina de MΓ©xico,’ a signature restaurant inside The Grove.
