Group TWS has captured the dazzling yet imperfect essence of youth in their second single album, ‘TO US’.
Every track on the album portrays an attitude of quietly moving forward amidst worries and hesitation. Deep resonance is evoked through honest confessions: admitting moments of exhaustion ("Even the moonlight over my shoulders feels burdensome tonight" from ‘heavy’), accepting clumsy aspects as part of oneself ("Now I smile looking at the parts that felt regrettable" from ‘WE UP’), and taking a step forward as they are ("Throwing myself fearlessly" from ‘Call My Name’).
The music video for the title track ‘Call My Name’ vividly depicts this as well. The six members, who continue their challenges in their own ways by climbing building exteriors or standing precariously on pillars, finally gather to run through the city and perform a dynamic choreography on a crosswalk. Enthusiastic responses poured in for their fearless dive into challenges despite hesitation, with fans calling it "beyond overwhelming emotion."
The reason TWS’s comfort gains authenticity is that they themselves have been writing a fierce growth narrative. Having previously sung about courage at unfamiliar starting points in ‘The first meeting didn’t go as planned’ and ‘If I’m S, Be My N’, they have transparently melted the emotions they faced upon passing their twenties into their music. Furthermore, they are expanding their capabilities by consistently participating in lyric-writing starting from their 4th mini-album ‘play hard’ and taking part in the overall production of unreleased unit songs during their first Asian tour, ‘2026 TWS TOUR ’24/7:FOR:YOU’.’
Their sincere portrayal of youth growth pains directly translated into stellar domestic and global success. ‘TO US’ ranked No. 1 on the Hanteo Chart daily physical album chart and No. 2 on Japan’s Oricon Daily Single Ranking on its release day (the 2nd). ‘Call My Name’ entered the Bugs chart at No. 2 and Melon ‘Top 100’ at No. 14 upon release, while its music video claimed 7th place on Korea’s YouTube ‘Daily Top Music Videos’ on the 3rd. Billboard in the US also praised the album, stating, "They expanded the meaning of growth by weaving imperfect moments into their own story without losing their unique positive perspective."
Going beyond the excitement of first meetings, the music of TWSβwhich now embraces anxiety and shadows just as they areβis deepening in sync with their growth. This is why their next chapter, to be expanded at their own pace, is anticipated even more.
