Managed by Grim Production, WISHes members Mmne and Ayla released their second single ‘I MY ME MINE’ at noon today (the 27th). This new release is their first group track in a long time, combining an upbeat Jersey club and house-based sound with the subtle emotions and nervous excitement budding between friends and lovers.
The music video also draws attention with its unique concept. Under the theme of ‘doll and owner,’ Mmne and Ayla unfold a fantastical story by moving between two different spaces. Enhanced by choreography that emphasizes the interaction between the two members, fans can look forward to WISHes’ special chemistry.
Ahead of the single’s release, WISHes shared the charm of the song, episodes from the preparation process, and their reflections on the past two years of activities through a Q&A. The two members named their 1st-anniversary showcase as their most memorable moment, showing affection for each other. They also revealed future activities they want to try, such as offline performances and participating in subculture game OSTs, raising expectations for their future path.

Q. WISHes is celebrating its 2nd debut anniversary. How do you feel right now?
Mmne: It’s so amazing that it’s already been 2 years. Everything was new and unfamiliar at first, but I feel like I’ve grown a lot through our activities. Above all, I think I was able to come this far thanks to Irumi (fandom name), who has been with us every moment. I want to show even more cool sides of us in the future.
Ayla: It feels like just yesterday we debuted, but time has really flown by. I’ve always been happy thanks to the Irumis who ran alongside us up to our 2nd anniversary. I want to stay together with Irumis for a long, long time.
Q. You are releasing a new group single to commemorate the 2nd anniversary. Please introduce the new song.
Mmne: It’s a dance track that instantly lifts your excitement the moment you hear it. The rhythm is fast and it’s exciting just to listen to it. It captures the subtle emotions and tension of getting closer yet drifting apart because you can’t easily express your feelings of affection.
Ayla: It was much cuter and fluffier than I expected, so I loved it from the first time I heard it. I worried with an excited heart about how I should sing it, and as I listened, I found myself humming it repeatedly. It’s a song filled with WISHes’ unique, pop-out excitement, so please look forward to it.
Q. Following ‘Wish List’ and ‘Dear Moon’, what new sides of WISHes did you want to show in this group track?
Mmne: This time, I wanted to show a bright and energetic side. Since it’s our first group track together in a year and a half, we wanted to show the choreography we prepared hard for and properly showcase our chemistry, which has grown stronger through our activities.
Ayla: In line with the song’s vibe, we prepared a music video with a unique concept of us as a doll and its owner, along with cute choreography capturing the subtle push-and-pull emotions. It’s a song where you can enjoy both visual and auditory fun, and we want to show a further-grown, new charm of WISHes. Please also look forward to me holding a small and cute Mmne doll.
Q. What was your initial reaction when you first heard this new song?
Mmne: I thought, ‘Ah, it’s good! This is totally our style!’ I loved it the moment I heard it.
Ayla: It was much cuter and fluffier than I anticipated, so I loved it. I remember being excited while worrying about how to sing it during recording.
Q. Do you have a favorite part in this song or a part you really want listeners to pay attention to?
Mmne: I like the part that goes, ‘Closer as breath touches~’. I like how the mood of the song changes at this part, so I hope people definitely listen to it.
Ayla: I like the part that goes, ‘Glance! Look at me~’. The dance is cute and the melody keeps lingering in my ears, so I hope you pay close attention to it.
Q. Are there any memorable episodes from recording or preparing for the new song?
Mmne: While practicing the choreography, Ayla bumped her head somewhere. When I looked later, she even had a bump on her forehead. I remember practicing that hard.
Ayla: Even after the recording ended, the song was so addictive that I kept humming it. I remember walking and finding myself humming the song without realizing it.
Q. Over the two years of promoting together, is there anything new you learned about each other or felt has changed?
Mmne: I don’t feel like a lot has changed drastically, but we’ve gotten a lot closer than before. Now, I can’t even imagine daily life without each other.
Ayla: It feels like Mmne is becoming an increasingly solid and mature person. Especially when preparing for her solo song, seeing her handle everything well on her own was truly cool and admirable.
Q. If you had to pick the most memorable moment from promoting as WISHes over the past two years, what would it be?
Mmne: The 1st-anniversary showcase is the most memorable. The preparation process was truly rewarding, and the sense of accomplishment after finishing the stage was huge.
Ayla: For me too, the 1st-anniversary showcase is the most memorable. We relied on each other a lot while preparing together, and the preparation process itself was really fun. I was so happy because the Irumis liked it a lot too.
Q. What kind of stages, content, or activities do you definitely want to try in the future?
Mmne: I definitely want to try an offline performance. It would be really great to meet fans directly on stage.
Ayla: I like subculture games, so I want to sing a subculture game OST together with Mmne.
Q. What is an activity or goal you definitely want to achieve together with fans in the future?
Mmne: If we get to hold a concert, I want to create fanchants together with Irumis. It would be really fun to enjoy the stage while shouting the fanchants all together.
Ayla: I want to hold a WISHes solo concert and spend a joyful time together with Irumis. I also want to hear Irumis’ sing-alongs directly. Just thinking about it makes me really excited.

Mmne: Irumis, thank you for being with us for 2 years! I will work hard to show even better sides of us in the future. I love you!
