Son Dong-woon from boy band Highlight will tie the knot in September.

“I am thankful that I met someone who understands and cares about me very well, which made me want to stay together [with her]. Therefore, we have decided to have a wedding ceremony in September,” the singer wrote in a handwritten letter uploaded to his social media accounts on Tuesday.

“Because [my partner] does not have the same profession as I [do], we plan on holding the wedding ceremony quietly, with families and close acquaintances,” Son said, asking fans for understanding.

Son’s agency, Around Us Entertainment, added in a statement the same day that the bride is not a celebrity or an entertainer, and the details about the ceremony, including its exact dates and details, will not be disclosed.

“Ever since I made my debut when I was 19 … and even until now, I’ve never been perfect, but I was able to grow this much thanks to the unimaginable amount of love sent by my fans,” Son said, thanking his fans.

“I also thank my Highlight members who have been supporting and trusting me all the time,” the singer added.

“Son will continue his activities as a member of Highlight, a singer-songwriter and an all-round entertainer. We hope you continue to send support and love to Son Dong-woon, who will return more maturely,” the agency said.

Son debuted in 2009 as a member of boy band Beast (B2ST). Members of Beast, known for “Fiction” (2011), “Beautiful Night” (2012) and “Good Luck” (2014), left its existing agency and renamed its band name to Highlight,” founding its agency Around Us Entertainment for its management. Highlight currently consists of four members, Yoon Du-jun, Yang Yo-seop, Lee Gi-kwang and Son.
