Hyundai Double Down! $25,000 Boost for AAPI Heritage Month

Hyundai Revs Up Support for AAPI Culture in Los Angeles

Hyundai is proving once again that its commitment to the community is more than just a marketing slogan. In honor of AAPI Heritage Month this May, Hyundai Motor America has significantly ramped up its efforts to celebrate and preserve Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) culture.

During a media event held at the Los Angeles Central Library (LAPL) on May 11, Hyundai announced a renewed partnership with the library to foster cultural education. To put its money where its mission is, the automaker donated $25,000 to the Library Foundation of Los Angeles (LFLA). This is a substantial leap from the $10,000 donation made in the previous year, signaling a deeper investment in Hyundai AAPI community support initiatives.

Empowering Voices Through Education and Art

The increased funding isn’t just for books. The donation is earmarked for a series of cultural heritage month celebrations and educational programs throughout the year. Notably, a portion of the funds will support a Hyundai-sponsored creative writing contest scheduled for the second half of 2026, aimed at amplifying the voices of the local community.

“Hyundai is incredibly proud to support AAPI cultural education within our local communities,” said Brandon Ramirez, Director of Social Responsibility at Hyundai Motor America. “Our goal is to continue driving toward inclusivity and meaningful connection through these partnerships.”

Don’t Miss Out: May Events at LAPL

Thanks to this sponsorship, the LAPL is transforming into a cultural hub this month. If you are in the Los Angeles area, mark your calendars for May 16, which promises to be the highlight of the month. The scheduled festivities include:

  • Author Talks & Book Signings: Meet and greet with influential Asian American writers.

  • Cultural Exhibits: A stunning display of Hanbok (traditional Korean attire).

  • Live Performances: High-energy traditional lion dances and more.

The LAPL also plans to highlight this collaboration across its social media platforms, showcasing how corporate partnership can directly enrich local public services.
