“Spread It More!” BTS V Sweetly Defends Fellow Trainee from Gatekeeping Fans
Imagine surviving army boot camp alongside a global megastar, sharing your wholesome memories online, and then getting bombarded by protective fans telling you to shut it down. That’s exactly what happened to a former military colleague of BTS’s Taehyung (V)—until the K-pop icon himself stepped in to clear the air and prove, once again, why he’s the ultimate green flag.

The internet was recently blessed with a series of Instagram videos detailing various BTS V Military Stories, uploaded by a fitness creator who trained in the same platoon as V. With catchy titles like “How I ended up aiming to become an elite trainee alongside BTS’s Taehyung” and “The game BTS’s Taehyung and I played most often at boot camp,” the videos offered fans a rare, heartwarming glimpse into the singer’s daily military life. V even gave the initial videos his official stamp of approval, commenting, “Long time no see. Your memory is no joke.”
When Army Meets “ARMY”: The Gatekeeping Controversy
However, the comment section quickly turned into a battlefield. A segment of protective fans grew anxious, worrying that the creator was oversharing V’s personal life for clout. Under intense pressure and controversy, the stressed-out trainee announced he would stop uploading the BTS V Military Stories altogether, stating his only intention was to show “what a good person Taehyung is.”
But V wasn’t about to let his military buddy get gym-crushed by internet drama. Crashing the comment section again, V gave the ultimate hype-man response: “Hey, why? Spread it even further. I’m enjoying it,” V wrote with a laugh, jokingly adding, “I can’t even remember [those things].”
The Ultimate Green Flag: V’s Heartwarming Reality Check

Despite V’s initial playful push, the debate refused to die down, prompting the BTS star to drop a lengthy, deeply mature comment on Wednesday to protect his friend. V acknowledged that while most people loved the content, others might view short clips out of context and get the wrong idea.
“Sometimes in life, even when something is done with good intentions, people can interpret it differently,” V wrote, validating both sides while completely reassuring his friend. He proudly reminisced about their service together, calling the creator the “ace” of their platoon.
But it was V’s witty and caring wrap-up that truly stole fans’ hearts. Knowing his buddy’s account is focused on heavy lifting, V added, “I’m leaving this comment because I’m worried you might be stressing over these reactions while doing bench presses. I hope you won’t take it too much to heart… I can’t remember what your dream was, but since you’re in such great shape, I guess you’re a bodybuilder. You’ve got this.”
V, who served in the elite Special Duty Team (SDT)—essentially the military police SWAT team—was discharged in June 2025. Thanks to V’s sweet defense, the creator has confirmed he will keep the BTS V Military Stories coming. Meanwhile, V and the rest of BTS are currently dominating the globe with their “Arirang” world tour, proving that whether he’s on stage or looking out for his military brothers, V always hits the right note.
