Nana home intruder saga has finally reached its legal conclusion, proving that the former After School member is just as fierce in real life as she is on screen.
On June 9, the Criminal Division 1 of the Namyangju Branch of the Uijeongbu District Court handed down a heavy seven-year prison sentence to a 30-year-old man, referred to as “A.”
He was found guilty of robbery and causing injury after breaking into the multi-talented K-pop star and actress’s residence.
In a refreshing turn of justice, the court also officially recognized that the physical retaliation by Nana and her mother during the terrifying encounter was a clear, undeniable case of self-defense.
A Real-Life Thriller in the Heart of Gyeonggi
The chilling incident took place in November last year at Nana’s private residence in Guri, Gyeonggi Province. The perpetrator, “A,” managed to sneak into the home, brandishing a deadly weapon and aggressively demanding cash and valuables from the vulnerable family.
But instead of freezing in fear, Nana and her mother channeled their inner action heroes.
The mother-daughter duo engaged in a fierce physical struggle with the armed criminal, successfully overpowering him with their bare hands before handing him straight over to the arriving police officers. It was a jaw-dropping display of bravery that left the entire industry stunned.
Audacious Excuses and AI Defenses Fail in Court
Despite the overwhelming trauma inflicted on the victims, the Nana home intruder attempted to gaslight the court until the very end.
During the trials, his legal team audaciously claimed he only intended to “burgle” the place at night, not commit an armed robbery. The perpetrator even tried to play the victim card, presenting a medical certificate claiming he suffered a 5cm deep cut during the scuffle with the family.
The prosecution, however, wasn’t buying any of it. Pointing out his complete lack of remorse and the severe mental anguish suffered by the victims, they originally demanded a 10-year sentence before the judge finalized it at seven years.
The Lingering Trauma Behind the Brave Face
While the public cheered for her incredible bravery, Nana bravely opened up about the heavy psychological toll the event left behind. Taking the stand directly as a witness, she delivered a heartbreaking testimony.
“After experiencing this, I thought I was okay. But without me even realizing it, it has remained a deep trauma in my life,” she confessed emotionally. Expressing her frustration with the grueling legal process, she added, “Why did this trial have to drag on for so long, and why did we have to suffer such humiliation? It felt like being repeatedly victimized over and over again.”
Now that her attacker is officially locked away for nearly a decade, global fans are sending an outpouring of love to the star, hoping this verdict finally brings the closure and peace of mind that Nana home intruder so cruelly disrupted.
