ILLIT Yunah delicately portrayed the confusion of an inescapable bond, exploding her suppressed emotions in front of a ring that stubbornly returns even after being thrown away.
On the 30th at 8 PM, the ‘BURNING’ version concept film for Yunah from ILLIT’s 5th mini album ‘BREAK EVEN’ was released on the HYBE Labels YouTube channel. In this video, where thunderclaps echoing under clear weather create a sense of anxiety, Yunah repeatedly falls and gets injured due to a ring getting caught in her skates while inline skating. In front of the ring that refuses to disappear from her view, she finally vents the anger she had been holding back.
The conversation among the members added to the video clearly represents Yunah’s entangled inner self. Minju stated, “Yunah even went all the way to the bus terminal yesterday because she had something to throw away. She said this time it’s truly the end,” followed by, “But she says it appears again. If you throw it away, it comes back; if you throw it away again, it pops up somewhere else,” depicting a cycle of emotions that is hard to shake off.
Scheduled for release on October 26, ILLIT’s 5th mini album ‘BREAK EVEN’ explores the break-even point of relationships, containing a bold declaration that they will no longer waste time on a counterpart who does not reciprocate the effort poured into them. In particular, the title track ‘Arrest You’ delivers a stern warning to someone who caused misunderstandings through habitual kindness.
Meanwhile, ILLIT plans to hold their encore tour ‘ILLIT LIVE ‘PRESS STARTβ₯’ ENCORE in KOREA’ at the Inspire Arena in Incheon for two days on October 17 and 18, presenting special performances to their fans.
