Singer Kim Jong-kook shared an amusing anecdote about how his identity was exposed during his trip to Hawaii simply because of his unique walking style, even though he covered his face entirely.
Kim Jong-kook Enjoys Relaxing Solo Trip in Hawaii
On October 1st, Kim Jong-kook uploaded a Hawaii travel vlog titled ‘Instead of a vacation, I went to see turtles…’ on his official YouTube channel. In the video, he captured his relaxing moments during a solo trip to Hawaii. Enjoying the beautiful scenery and beaches, Kim Jong-kook shared, “I haven’t had a long, relaxing break like this in a very long time. Since I came alone, it’s a bit inconvenient to go around eating by myself, but exercising is quite nice.”
After taking the bus to the gym, Kim Jong-kook relaxed on his hotel terrace, admiring the stunning ocean view. He expressed his contentment, saying, “Now it really feels like I’m in Hawaii.”
Recognized Despite Heavy Disguise
The next day, Kim Jong-kook mentioned his initial pressure to do something special in Hawaii, saying, “I used to feel pressured, but thinking that I’m just here to rest feels fine. I think I’ll just look at the ocean, rest, and maybe go work out.” After breakfast, he covered his face completely with a hat, mask, and sunglasses, lounging in the sun.
Later, as he headed back out to the gym, he wore sunglasses, a mask, and a hat once again to hide his identity. However, contrary to his intentions, a Korean mother and daughter recognized him because of his distinct walking style. Kim Jong-kook recounted, “I was walking to the bus stop to go to the gym, and a Korean mother and daughter told me they followed me because they thought it was me. So, I took pictures with them.”
He added with amusement, “I thought I hid myself thoroughly. They said they recognized me just by my walking style. I tried my best to stay stealthy and covered up, but they still knew.”
