Actor Goo Sung-hwan recently revealed his unexpected friendship with a much younger acquaintance on television.
A Friendship Forged at a Motorcycle Test Site
During the October 16 broadcast of the MBC variety show ‘I Live Alone’, Goo Sung-hwan was featured riding his newly purchased motorcycle, named ‘Kuku’, alongside a close friend. Goo shared that it took him four attempts to pass his motorcycle test, proudly describing his bike’s name as a blend of ‘Kuku’ and Tom Cruise.
After arriving at a Hangang Park parking lot, Goo waited for his companion, who arrived riding a motorcycle reminiscent of the film ‘Beat’. Goo explained that they met in January at a motorcycle license examination center, noting that his friend failed the test even faster than his own 10-second attempt, making him a 21-year-old born in 2006.
Bonding Over Shared Hardships and Pets
Goo expressed his amazement at how close they became, mentioning that they frequently stay in touch, enjoy beer together with Kim Dae-ho, and even communicate with the friend’s mother. When panel members marveled at how difficult it is to be close with a 21-year-old, Goo revealed that the younger friend reached out with genuine concern during a difficult time, calling him in the middle of the night in tears over the passing of Goo’s beloved pet dog, Kkokbuni.
Goo expressed deep affection for his friend, stating that despite the age gap, they communicate effortlessly and the younger friend often feels more mature than he does.
