Ivy Broadway — Singer Spent $6,500 on English Lessons for Debut

Singer and musical actress Ivy recently shared the behind-the-scenes story of her grueling preparation to enter Broadway. On the November 4 broadcast of the tvN variety show ‘You Quiz on the Block’, Ivy appeared as the first Korean actress ever to break into New York’s prestigious Broadway.

Reflecting on how it all began, Ivy explained, Ivy Broadway aspirations started in 2022 when she received an offer to star in the musical ‘Chicago’ on Broadway while the pandemic was still in full swing. Because she couldn’t speak English well at the time, she brushed it off as an absurd joke. However, after two years of quiet, the Korean production team contacted her again in 2024 to audition, advising her to start learning English just in case.
