The shocking lie detector test results between Yoo Yeon-seok and Seo Hyun-jin in the MBC Friday-Saturday Liar K-drama have finally been unveiled, marking the beginning of an intense second round of psychological warfare between the two characters.
MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama ‘Liar’ (planned by Lee Dae-yong / directed by Jo Young-min / written by Baek Jae-young / produced by Zip Cinema, Kakao Entertainment) delivered intense immersion from its very first week through the gripping battle of wits between actors Yoo Yeon-seok (playing Min Jun-ho) and Seo Hyun-jin (playing Kang Ji-sun). In particular, the unconventional premise that ‘one of the two main characters is lying’ and the unpredictable plot have drawn favorable reviews for offering a unique psychological thriller.
The ending of the second episode delivered a massive shock to viewers. The day after their seemingly perfect first date, Kang Ji-sun reported Min Jun-ho to the police. Amidst the sharply conflicting claimsβMin Jun-ho insisting there was no coercion while Kang Ji-sun appealing that she was a victimβthe subsequent lie detector test revealed the twist that ‘the person who lied was Kang Ji-sun,’ leaving viewers in utter confusion.
Ahead of the third episode, the production team of ‘Liar’ on the 5th released contrasting stills of Min Jun-ho and Kang Ji-sun receiving the investigation results from detective Lee Hwa-young (played by Ok Ja-yeon) immediately following the shocking ending, capturing intense attention.
In the released photos, Min Jun-ho, who had previously protested his innocence, is seen hanging his head low with a somewhat relieved expression. Conversely, Kang Ji-sun, who had strongly claimed victimization, is shedding tears with a clear look of bewilderment, creating a subtle sense of tension. Curiosity and questions multiply over whether Kang Ji-sun is truly the ‘liar’ indicated by the lie detector, or if another hidden secret related to the past death of Min Jun-ho’s wife still exists.
Regarding this, the production team of ‘Liar’ stated, “Episode 3, airing on the 6th, depicts massive changes surrounding the two characters following the shocking ending. These changes will have a decisive impact on their truth-seeking battle, and the explosive passionate performances of Yoo Yeon-seok and Seo Hyun-jin will shine even brighter, so please look forward to it.” Episode 3 airs at 9:50 PM on the 6th.
