Faker T1 Worlds dominance continues as mid-laner Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok expressed a mix of relaxed confidence and heavy assurance ahead of their upcoming semifinal showdown against Bilibili Gaming (BLG).
T1 secured a 3-1 victory over Karmine Corp (KC) in the quarterfinals of the ‘2026 LoL World Championship’ held at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas. With this win, T1 extended their remarkable Worlds knockout stage winning streak to 10 games, comfortably securing their spot in the semifinals for the sixth consecutive year.
Speaking to the press after the victory interview, Faker shared his thoughts on why his team historically excels in multi-game series and tournament stages. He stated, ‘For today’s match, our team synergy during skirmishes was exceptional, and things went smoothly just as we had planned, which led to our victory.’
Expressing satisfaction with the flow of the quarterfinal match after feeling the Swiss stage concluded a bit too quickly, Faker smiled and said, ‘Right after the Swiss stage ended, I felt a bit regretful, but today’s match featured a lot of thrilling skirmishes and was genuinely fun. I’m looking forward to playing another exciting match in the semifinals.’
He also shared lighthearted anecdotes about his solo queue life in North America. Playing under the ID ‘Hide on bush’ on the NA server, he laughed and mentioned, ‘I’m having a bit of a tough time with Rengar, but I’m having fun playing various champions in NA solo queue and doing well overall.’
All eyes now turn to the semifinal match against BLG, scheduled for the 9th. Acknowledging BLG’s fierce momentum as a top contender that has consecutively defeated LCK teams in this Worlds tournament, Faker recognized their skill while maintaining unwavering confidence in T1.
Faker remarked, ‘BLG has been showing incredible strength in this Worlds and has beaten all the LCK teams, so I think they are definitely a championship-caliber team. However, it’s unfortunate for them that they have to face us in the semifinals,’ signaling a fierce battle ahead with his trademark confidence.
