Amazon hiring efforts are ramping up significantly as the company announced plans to recruit over 34,000 seasonal, part-time, and full-time employees across California ahead of the holiday shopping season. Among these, the hiring scale for the Los Angeles area alone exceeds 2,900 positions.

Temporary contract workers will receive an average starting wage of $20 per hour, and qualifying employees will be eligible for medical benefits and other perks starting on their very first day on the job.

Amazon explained that this massive recruitment drive is designed to handle the surging fulfillment and logistics demands during the peak holiday shopping season. Furthermore, some temporary contract workers will be given the opportunity to transition into regular, full-time permanent positions after the holiday season concludes.

Full-time employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching, up to 20 weeks of paid parental leave, and a free Amazon Prime membership.

Workers can also take advantage of ‘Career Choice,’ a tuition support program connected with over 475 educational institutions, along with a 10% discount on select products at Amazon and Whole Foods Market.

According to Amazon, wages for seasonal workers who remain with the company can see an average increase of 15% over their first three years of employment.

Job applications can be submitted directly through the official Amazon recruitment website at amazon.com/localjobs. Individuals can also receive new job opening alerts by texting ‘NEWJOB’ to the number 31432 using their mobile phones.
