Andy Kim Senator Criticizes Trump, Introduces New Bill

Andy Kim senator (D-NJ) continues to clash with the White House, strongly opposing former President Donald Trump.

On the 9th, Andy Kim senator openly criticized Trump in a CNN interview. He stated, “Trump is degrading the dignity of politics. He has dragged American politics into an unbearably rude state for most Americans.”

Kim, a three-term House member now in the Senate, shared his concerns. “This is the third time I’ve watched Trump’s speech at a joint session of Congress, and the quality keeps deteriorating,” he said. “Trump hurls personal attacks at lawmakers. He has no interest in respectful politics, communication, or cooperation.”

During his congressional address on the 4th, Trump lashed out at Democratic lawmakers. He said, “These people sitting here will not clap, will not stand, and will not cheer for my astronomical achievements.” He also called the previous Joe Biden administration “radical left lunatics.”

Meanwhile, Andy Kim senator joined Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) and Derrick Tran (D-CA 45th District) to introduce the Protect Veteran Jobs Act in the Senate and House.

The bill aims to reinstate veterans who lost federal jobs without cause between January 20 and the bill’s enactment. It also requires federal agencies to report quarterly to Congress on veteran terminations and their reasons.

In a joint statement, Kim and Duckworth highlighted that veterans make up over 30% of the federal workforce. They noted that recent mass layoffs have left more than 6,000 veterans jobless.

Key organizations back the bill, including the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), the AFL-CIO Union Veterans Council, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
