The South Korean film Assassins has surpassed 3.3 million accumulated moviegoers, securing its spot in the top 4 box office hits for Korean films in 2026, and is now launching a special appreciation event to reward its passionate audience.

Directed by Hur Jin-ho and produced by Hive Media Corp, Assassins has captivated viewers since its September 23 release with its meticulous tracking thriller narrative surrounding historical truths and the dense acting ensemble of its cast. Having officially crossed 3.26 million admissions, the production team has prepared a series of gratitude events to thank supporters.

An exclusive ticket giveaway runs through Tuesday, October 20, offering pairs of movie tickets to randomly selected participants who fill out the online entry form, with winners announced on October 21. Additionally, fans who purchase tickets and verify their attendance on social media using required hashtags can win limited-edition HEIGHTS collaboration T-shirts through a separate event running until November 1.

Assassins depicts the suspicions and hidden forces behind the shocking 1974 First Lady assassination attempt in South Korea. With a total production budget of approximately 19 billion KRW, the film’s break-even point sits in the mid-3 million range and is expected to be achieved shortly.

Meanwhile, the film sparked controversy following its release regarding historical interpretations, leading to intense public debate and subsequent malicious criticism or threats directed at the cast and crew. Most notably, a conservative group held a protest outside actor Yoo Hae-jin’s private residence earlier this month, prompting him to receive police protection before recently requesting its cancellation.
