[OSEN=Kang Seo-jung] Sung Hoon, Oh Se-young, and Lee Jung-shin are set to captivate viewers with an unpredictable triangular romance filled with excitement and tension.
Scheduled to premiere at 10:20 p.m. on the 11th, MBN’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Boss’s Explicit Taste’ (directed by Kang Sol, written by Nam Ji-yeon) follows Kwon Do-hyuk (played by Sung Hoon), a taste-zero chaebol boss searching for ‘Her’ inside a single album, and Lee Eun-chae (played by Oh Se-young), an indie band vocalist who unexpectedly disrupts his perfect life, in a taste-targeting camouflage romance.
With the gathering of charismatic actors such as Sung Hoon, Oh Se-young, and Lee Jung-shin (playing Moon Tae-kyung), anticipation is high as the complex and subtle relationships they build in the drama emerge as a major viewing point. We break down the relationship of the three individuals who start with an accidental meeting, become entangled through secrets and contracts, and eventually develop true feelings for one another.
Kwon Do-hyuk and Lee Eun-chae’s first encounter takes place in an unexpected setting. Visiting a hospital for insomnia treatment, Kwon Do-hyuk has an accidental run-in with Lee Eun-chae, who is wearing a doctor’s gown. Later, looking for ‘Su,’ the vocalist of the indie band ‘India Red’ who shares the exact face of an AI singer he created, Kwon Do-hyuk visits a concert venue where he crosses paths with Lee Eun-chae once again.
Kwon Do-hyuk, trying to uncover the identity of ‘Su,’ and Lee Eun-chae, trying to hide her secret, engage in a tense battle of wits every time they meet. Amidst this, through an unexpected proposal from Kwon Do-hyuk, the two enter into a special 3-month relationship as a representative and a secretary.
As the time spent together grows, changes come to Kwon Do-hyuk’s daily life. His previously unwavering tastes and perfectly controlled life begin to slightly sway because of Lee Eun-chae. Curiosity builds over what kind of feelings these bickering individuals will develop for each other beyond a contractual relationship.
Lee Eun-chae and Moon Tae-kyung’s relationship begins at the hospital. Accidentally bumping into each other, the two get entangled in a minor misunderstanding, and when they meet again at the concert hall, Moon Tae-kyung learns that Lee Eun-chae is ‘Su,’ the vocalist of the indie band ‘India Red.’ As a result, the two develop a special bond, sharing a secret that is not easily confessed to others.
Moon Tae-kyung consistently helps Lee Eun-chae whenever she is in a difficult situation, voluntarily acting as a reliable supporter. In the process, he unawares begins to care for Lee Eun-chae. Lee Eun-chae also feels grateful to Moon Tae-kyung for taking such meticulous care of her, gradually narrowing the emotional distance between them.
Attention focuses on what meaning their repeated, destiny-like encounters will hold, and whether their mutual affection can blossom into love. In particular, anticipation is added as to how Moon Tae-kyung’s affectionate charmโapproaching Lee Eun-chae in a completely different way from Kwon Do-hyukโwill bring changes to the romance.
As two men with entirely different charms, Kwon Do-hyuk and Moon Tae-kyung, appear before Lee Eun-chae, the relationships among the three become much more complicated. Every time Kwon Do-hyuk and Lee Eun-chae meet, they clash over every little thing, yet subtle changes in their feelings for each other are detected before long. Even in moments receiving Moon Tae-kyung’s sweet consideration, the prickly Kwon Do-hyuk pops into Lee Eun-chae’s head, causing her to reflect on her own heart.
Moon Tae-kyung also feels tension for the first time upon learning that there is someone else in Lee Eun-chae’s life. Although he has lived his life respecting others’ choices, a feeling arises this time that he does not want to back down easily. The different expressions of affection from the two men toward Lee Eun-chae and her fluttering emotions in between will weave together to unfold a thrilling, suspenseful triangle romance.
Above all, the drama builds excitement as the three characters view love in different ways. The sharpening emotional differences and conflicting choices as they grow closer are expected to deliver both excitement and tension to viewers simultaneously.
Writer Nam Ji-yeon shared, “All three characters harbor loneliness and want to love and be loved. They just have different ways of loving.” She added, “Please watch the triangle romance of Kwon Do-hyuk, who dislikes serious love; Lee Eun-chae, who has never experienced true love; and Moon Tae-kyung, who dreams of sincere love, with fluttering hearts.”
