Every single show achieved a ‘perfect sell-out,’ drawing a total of 853,000 audience members.”

Meaningful Reunions and First-Time Visits in South America

This particular South American tour held deep significance as it intersected first-time meetings with long-awaited reunions between BTS and their local fans. BTS held their very first full-group concerts in Colombia and Argentina, and also visited Peru for the first time since their debut. Furthermore, they returned to Chile for the first time in 9 years and Brazil in 7 years, receiving an enthusiastic welcome from local fans. They also showcased Korean heritage by incorporating traditional stage elements inspired by Korean pavilions, Gyeonghoeru Pavilion at Gyeongbokgung Palace, and the Taegeukgi.

Even in cities they visited for the first time, BTS’s local popularity was explosive. Peru’s El Comercio highlighted the event by stating, “It is rare to encounter such a concert in Lima,” while Argentina’s La Naciรณn introduced the tour noting, “Everything is tailored to the audience.”

Economic Impact and Massive Local Boost

The cities hosting BTS concerts experienced significant boosts in tourism, transportation, and consumption, once again proving the group’s immense global influence.

According to a survey in La Plata, where the Buenos Aires concert was held, 96% of the audience traveled from outside the city, drawing fans from 11 different countries with 130,000 people visiting the area for the first time. The total amount spent by attendees on lodging, transportation, leisure, food, and beverages was estimated at approximately 53 billion Argentine pesos (about 46 billion KRW).

In Bogotรก, Colombia, airline reservations during the concert period surged by 46% compared to the previous year, while Peru’s Lima concert saw a spike in ride-hailing services, and Santiago, Chile, experienced a rise in accommodation search volumes, signaling a vibrant economic lift across South America.

Heartfelt Closing Thoughts from BTS

Concluding their South American tour, BTS shared their thoughts: “Since it’s difficult to visit South America frequently, this was one of the schedules we anticipated the most. We were truly excited before coming here, and as expected, you are all amazing. The emotion we received this time is so overwhelming that it makes us want to return and give it back to you soon. One of the happiest memories of my life was made right here. We will cherish this memory and carry it back with us.”
