Son Suk-ku and Park Bo-young are teaming up for the first time on screen, starring as a married couple in director Kang Hyeong-cheol’s upcoming film.
Director Kang Hyeong-cheol’s new movie ‘If With You’ (English title: Kiss For Tomorrow) has officially finalized its cast and commenced full-scale filming.
‘Kiss For Tomorrow’ is a fantasy romantic comedy that follows an unusual couple who must share a kiss at least once a day to secure their tomorrow, only to face an unexpected separation during a cruise trip and embark on a desperate journey to find their most cherished kiss.
Director Kang Hyeong-cheol’s First Romance Project
Having captivated audiences across generations with hits like ‘Speed Scandal’, ‘Sunny’, ‘Tazza: The Hidden Card’, ‘Swing Kids’, and ‘High Five’, director Kang Hyeong-cheol is taking on his very first romance genre with ‘Kiss For Tomorrow’. Known for his cheerful energy, warm perspectives on characters, and sensory use of music, the director is expanding his storytelling from romantic comedy to adventure using the unique concepts of ‘kisses’ and ‘time loops’.
Actor Son Suk-ku, who has proven his exceptional presence in films like ‘The Roundup’ and ‘Troll Factory’ and dramas such as ‘D.P.’, ‘My Liberation Notes’, and ‘A Killer Paradox’, plays Ji-kyung, a devoted husband who completely adores his wife Oh-seong, whom he fell in love with at first sight. Son portrays a relatable character struggling to return to his wife after being stranded in an unfamiliar place during their cruise.
A 18-Year Reunion for Park Bo-young
Actress Park Bo-young takes on the role of Oh-seong, a loving and energetic wife who goes to great lengths to reunite with her husband after being left alone on the cruise. Notably, this project marks a meaningful 18-year reunion between Park Bo-young and director Kang Hyeong-cheol, who previously gave her the ‘Nation’s Little Sister’ title through ‘Speed Scandal’.
Known for her deep and versatile acting in films like ‘On Your Wedding Day’ and ‘Concrete Utopia’, and dramas such as ‘Daily Dose of Sunshine’, anticipation is high for the chemistry between Park and Son Suk-ku.
Global Locations and Cinematic Experience
The production involves filming across domestic locations as well as Singapore and Thailand. Featuring colorful mise-en-scรจne against large cruise ships and exotic scenery, the film aims to deliver a cinematic experience that satisfies the senses. Director Kang expressed his gratitude, stating, “Time makes every project feel more precious. I will cherish today’s crank-in experience and do my best to bring delightful joy to the audience.”
An artwork collaboration with illustrator Haisu was also revealed, capturing the witty and dynamic continuity of the two main characters finally meeting and sharing a passionate kiss after struggling through their respective journeys.
