Actress Chae Soo-bin recently shared her thoughts on reuniting with the main cast of ‘Love in the Moonlight’ for a special 10th-anniversary variety show.
During an interview held at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Chae discussed the special program ‘Love in the Moonlight Again’ which aired last month to commemorate the hit KBS2 drama’s 10th anniversary. Having gone on a 2+1 day trip with fellow cast members Park Bo-gum, Kim Yoo-jung, Jinyoung, and Kwak Dong-yeon, she expressed her affection for the team, noting how they have consistently stayed in touch and supported each other over the years.
When asked about the secret to maintaining such a close bond, she credited Park Bo-gum for taking the lead in keeping everyone connected, while jokingly adding that it was also thanks to the fact that nobody caused any major scandals over the past decade. Reflecting on the filming, she mentioned how surreal it felt to put their traditional hanbok costumes back on and even joked about planning a 20th-anniversary gathering in the future.
Addressing reactions about how the cast still looks the same as they did 10 years ago, Chae laughed and shared that they exchanged friendly banter about not aging, humorously attributing their youthful appearance to modern advancements in cosmetic procedures.
Looking back on the past decade, Chae admitted that she has become much more thoughtful and cautious with her acting choices, shifting her focus from simply doing her part to deeply considering how characters resonate with viewers. As she enters her 30s, she also opened up about the natural anxieties of an unstable career and expressed her desire to step out of her comfort zone by tackling diverse genres and challenging characters in the future.
Having wrapped up ‘Recharge Me’, Chae is set to continue her romantic streak with the upcoming SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Flowers Are Bait’, a black comedy romance that promises a completely different atmosphere.
