Choi San of the group ATEEZ recently shared a heartwarming update about how he successfully resolved his family’s financial struggles through his hard work.
During the October 24 broadcast of the MBC variety show Omniscient Interfering View, ATEEZ members Choi San and Hongjong appeared alongside comedian Yoo Young-woo as guests.
When host Jun Hyun-moo asked when they truly feel their immense popularity, Hongjong responded that their schedules have tripled compared to usual, noting that Choi San is currently landing commercial deals across various industries.
Choi San revealed that he is the first idol to come from Namhae. While driving, he made a cheerful phone call to his father, showcasing their affectionate bond. He expressed deep respect for his father, describing him as a patriarchal yet remarkably positive figure who shouldered all the family’s burdens so his loved ones could live comfortably.
When asked if his family opposed his dream of becoming a singer, Choi San stated, There was no opposition at all. He added, Our family ran into a bit of debt. Back in high school, when we could only afford to eat chicken once a week, my mother explained our difficult financial situation to me. I wanted to start working early or find my dream quickly to pay off my family’s debt. I have now paid off all of that debt.
Hongjong, watching closely, remarked, San spent everything he earned over the first one to two years entirely on his family. Choi San smiled brightly and added, It’s a happy ending now. Everyone in my family is doing well.
