Health insurer Clever Care is introducing two new health plans tailored for seniors with chronic conditions.

During a media conference held on the 26th at the Cerritos Sheraton Hotel, Clever Care unveiled its 2027 member benefits, which include customized plans for enrollees suffering from diabetes, cardiovascular disease, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), alongside improvements to the ease of use for support funds.

The new plans are ‘Total Choice Plus’ and ‘Breathe Select Plus.’ They are aimed at enrollees who have the chronic conditions matching the plan eligibility requirements and do not have dual Medicare and Medicaid eligibility.

The company explained that these plans offer low annual maximum out-of-pocket limits for members and provide dedicated care teams to assist with coordinating medical care.

Karen Johnson, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Clever Care, stated, “We aim to support members who struggle with managing chronic conditions so they can maintain their health. Our goal is to provide benefits that offer practical help for the health challenges members face in their daily lives.”

Additionally, the eligible plans offer ‘$0 copay’ benefits for primary care physician and specialist visits.

The company also operates a member rewards program where enrollees can receive additional flex allowances upon completing preventive screenings and health management activities.

Flex allowances, which are used for dental care and grocery purchases, can now be rolled over into the next quarter.

Depending on plan conditions, allowances can be used for groceries, dental, vision, hearing aids, and over-the-counter (OTC) medications. Adrian Lee, a Korean-American sales vice president at Clever Care, noted, “At the LA Koreatown Community Center, Korean-Americans can receive consultations comfortably in Korean.”

Clever Care operates centers in four Southern California locations, including room 227 at the LA Koreatown Plaza, offering health and social exchange programs.

On this day, Clever Care announced it earned 4.5 out of 5 stars in the 2027 star ratings from the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The star ratings comprehensively evaluate preventive care, chronic condition management, medical service accessibility, and member experience.
