The Daylight Saving Time end is scheduled for Sunday, November 1, requiring residents to turn their clocks back by one hour.
Daylight Saving Time officially ends at 2 AM on this day, moving the time back to 1 AM. As a result, individuals will gain an extra hour of sleep. While smartphones and computers generally update automatically, traditional wall clocks and wristwatches must be adjusted manually.
The time difference between Los Angeles and South Korea will also increase from 16 to 17 hours. When it is 9 AM in Los Angeles, it will be 2 AM the following day in South Korea.
Discussions regarding the permanent establishment of Daylight Saving Time failed to reach a conclusion once again this year. The U.S. House of Representatives previously passed the ‘Sunshine Protection Act’ on July 14 with a vote of 308 to 117 to keep Daylight Saving Time year-round. However, due to a lack of subsequent action in the Senate, the traditional time-change system remains in effect.
Meanwhile, Daylight Saving Time is set to resume next year on Sunday, March 14, at 2 AM.
