Get ready for an intense legal showdown as Good Partner Season 2 brings Jang Nara and Park Hae-jin together as rival divorce attorneys leading competing law firms.
Scheduled to premiere on the 20th, the new SBS Friday-Saturday drama ‘Good Partner Season 2’ (directed by Seo Min-jung, written by Choi Yu-na) has unveiled ‘rival’ stills capturing the sharp tension between Cha Eun-kyung (played by Jang Nara) and Park Tae-soo (played by Park Hae-jin). The two top representatives of ‘Libom Law Firm’ and ‘Tae-soo Law Firm’ are set to engage in a fierce competition centered around Kang Hye-sung (played by Kim Hye-yoon).
‘Good Partner Season 2’ is a refreshing divorce court show where Cha Eun-kyung, a veteran lawyer whose constitution is practically ‘divorce,’ teams up with passionate experienced lawyer Kang Hye-sung. Amid life’s ongoing uncertainties and the aftermath of divorce, these lawyers strive to choose the best among suboptimal options, delivering thrilling catharsis and deep empathy. Writer Choi Yu-na, a specialist in divorce law, returns to pen the script, while director Seo Min-jung brings her delicate and sensory direction to the project, joined by an elite cast including Jang Nara, Kim Hye-yoon, Pyo Ji-hoon, and Park Hae-jin.
The Fierce Rivalry and Floor-by-Floor Competition
While the second teaser previewed the fierce rivalry between Cha Eun-kyung and Park Tae-soo, these newly released stills show their competition igniting in full force. ‘Libom Law Firm’ is strategically located on the 7th floor, considered prime real estate right across from the courthouse. However, when ‘Tae-soo Law Firm’ boldly sets up shop directly above on the 8th floor, Cha Eun-kyung decides to pay Park Tae-soo a personal visit. While Park greets her with a relaxed demeanor, Cha’s expression reveals clear displeasure, foreshadowing a chilling psychological battle from day one.
The rivalry escalates further with floor-level marketing battles and intense head-hunting wars. When encountering Kang Hye-sung of ‘Chunjeong Law Firm,’ both Cha Eun-kyung and Park Tae-soo flash confident smiles that refuse to yield an inch. The upcoming clash between Cha Eun-kyungβwho has built South Korea’s premier divorce-exclusive law firm through overwhelming know-how and experienceβand Park Tae-soo, who aims to become the undisputed ‘number one’ in the divorce sector, promises high excitement.
Chemistry and Character Dynamics
Another major highlight of this season is the witty, bickering chemistry between Cha Eun-kyung and Park Tae-soo. Jang Nara described her character’s new rival, saying, “Tae-soo is a friend with diverse charms. From his professional convictions to his conflicting relationship with Eun-kyung, he is a complex character.”
Park Hae-jin similarly characterized their dynamic as not a ‘good partner,’ but rather a ‘good partner?’ He added, “Tae-soo respects Eun-kyung, but he also harbors complex emotions like underlying inferiority and a competitive drive to win.” Their mutual respect paired with an uncompromising competitive streak creates a wonderfully intricate relationship.
Director Seo Min-jung noted, “Eun-kyung and Tae-soo are college classmates and competing lawyers working on upper and lower floors of the same landmark building near the Family Court. Whenever they cross paths, they constantly bump heads and bicker.” She added, “Veteran actors Jang Nara and Park Hae-jin portray the relationship between Cha Eun-kyung and Park Tae-soo with incredible wit and charm, making their scenes together exceptionally entertaining.”
