Girl group ITZY Chaeryeong solo debut is officially happening, following in the footsteps of fellow members Yeji and Yuna as the third member of the group to launch a solo career.
On the 19th, JYP Entertainment officially announced Chaeryeong’s solo debut by surprising fans with the release of the promotion scheduler, tracklist, and a teaser trailer for her first mini-album, ‘Lovesick’, via official social media channels.
Having debuted with ITZY in 2019, Chaeryeong has captivated audiences globally with her unrivaled ‘feather-like’ choreography, stable live vocals, and candid charm. She is now preparing to take her first step as a solo artist this autumn.
The newly released trailer immediately drew the attention of fans with its cinematic direction and Chaeryeong’s unique aura. It tells an intriguing story about a protagonist who is normally indifferent to everything in the world, yet suddenly falls in love with a special and unexpected entity known as ‘That’. The quirky narrativeβfeaturing a character who remains completely unphased even in front of a birthday cake, a ringing phone on fire, or winning the lottery, only to be swept away by an unexpected objectβmaximizes curiosity.
Her upcoming new album, ‘Lovesick’, features a total of four tracks, including the title track of the same name, ‘Moonlit Club’, ‘Scent’, and ‘Favorite Reason’. Notably, Chaeryeong directly participated in writing the lyrics for the fourth track, ‘Favorite Reason’, infusing her own musical sensitivity and sincerity as a solo artist.
Chaeryeong plans to sequentially unveil a variety of teaser content, including concept photos, music video teasers, and an album spoiler, leading up to the official release. Furthermore, she will meet with fans first through a countdown live broadcast on November 9 at 5 PM KST, the very day of her debut.
The highly anticipated first solo mini-album ‘Lovesick’, which MIDZY (ITZY’s fandom name) has been waiting for, will be released across various online music sites on November 9 at 6 PM KST.
