[OSEN=Kang Seo-jung] IVE (An Yu-jin, Gaeul, Ray, Jang Won-young, Liz, Leeseo) transformed into ‘Girl Heroes’ and raised anticipation for their new release.
Agency Starship Entertainment revealed teaser images for IVE’s new mini-album ‘Looks Can Kill’ through their official SNS on the 2nd.
The released teaser images immediately captured attention with a composition reminiscent of a hero movie casting poster. The six members appeared as ‘Girl Heroes’ with distinct personalities, radiating intense presence with only parts of their faces and silhouettes revealed. This aroused curiosity about the stories these veiled characters will unfold while heightening expectations for the new worldview to be expanded through this album.
The poses and direction emphasizing each member’s individuality also drew attention. An Yu-jin revealed only part of her face while staring straight into the camera, completing a mysterious atmosphere, while Gaeul expressed an energetic and strong character through dynamic movements. Ray added her signature wit and composure with a pose pointing her finger toward the camera.
Jang Won-young imprinted the character’s presence with a pose instantly reminiscent of a hero, and Liz caught the eye by emitting an intense gaze despite her restrained movements. Leeseo emphasized her unique personality by utilizing uniquely designed gloves, heralding the birth of another ‘Girl Hero’.
In addition, masks with different designs for each member enhanced the immersion into the concept. As masks symbolizing each character and mysterious direction combined, it fueled curiosity about what kind of heroes the six members will become in unfolding their story.
Following the pre-release of the title track of the same name, ‘Looks Can Kill’, on the 19th, IVE’s new mini-album ‘Looks Can Kill’, to be released on the 26th, puts forward ‘Girl Hero’, another ‘Another Ego’ following the previously shown cupid and magical girl concepts.
IVE, who has unspooled the keyword ‘self-assurance’ in their own unique colors, presents a spin-off project that expands their worldview more three-dimensionally through this album. It is expected to show the team’s present by adding new characters and narratives while continuing IVE’s existing color, as well as raising expectations for their upcoming musical trajectory.
