The group IVE (An Yu-jin, Gaeul, Ray, Jang Won-young, Liz, Leeseo) has successfully wrapped up their music show promotions after expanding their independent narrative.

IVE first performed ‘Looks Can Kill’ at the ‘Spotify DIVE ACADEMY’ event on the 19th of last month, followed by active promotions across various music shows, officially ending this album cycle with their appearance on SBS ‘Inkigayo’ on the 1st.

On music shows, IVE captured attention with unique styling, including hero suits, and dynamic group choreography. They delivered an abundance of visual highlights on every stage through elements like a sniper-like ‘sniper dance’, fast choreography transitions, and expressive acting that heightened the mood of the track.

In the spinoff film for the b-side track ‘CRUMBS’, they showcased a kitsch and lovely atmosphere while partying with baby Dives, revealing a charm distinct from the title track.

Furthermore, they displayed a well-rounded set of musical capabilities and variety skills, showing off friendly charms through witty remarks and chemistry in broadcasts and web content, alongside solid vocals demonstrated across various singing content.

Notably, An Yu-jin’s ultra-high-speed choreography, reminiscent of teleportation, sparked a buzz alongside the nickname ‘Quick-jin’ (Quicksilver + An Yu-jin). Combined with challenges and short-form content featuring various versions like the ‘Gini Urigetseo’ and ‘Kungsit Kungsit’ parts, the cumulative views of related videos on IVE’s official social media surpassed 110 million views.

Amidst this activity and popularity, IVE swept the top spots on various charts, including the Melon Global-K Chart, Hanteo Chart Weekly World & Social Charts, Circle Chart Weekly Download Chart, and YouTube Music Video Trending Worldwide. They also secured high ranks on the Melon TOP100 and Bugs daily and weekly charts, while entering Japan’s Billboard Japan ‘Hot 100’ and Oricon Weekly Digital Single Chart, achieving meaningful results in both domestic and international music markets.

Through this promotion cycle, IVE expanded the message of ‘self-assurance’ they have delivered since debut into a ‘girl hero’ concept, broadening their unique narrative even further. By portraying a story where anyone can become the protagonist and hero of their own life through IVE’s signature confident energy and intense performances, they have once again clearly imprinted their unique color.

Through their agency Starship Entertainment, IVE shared their thoughts: “This album felt unique as it is a spinoff project that connects with what we’ve shown previously while containing a slightly different story. When we first heard the ‘girl hero’ concept, we were excited to see what kind of stage we could present, and we wanted to express it in a fun way using our own style.” They added, “Thanks to the support of DIVE (our official fandom), we were able to stand on stage joyfully and happily. We want to continue making many good memories with DIVE through music and stages containing IVE’s unique color.”
