Actress Jo A-ram has been capturing viewers’ hearts in the KBS 2TV weekend mini-series ‘What Else is Love,’ showcasing a diverse range of acting from a bold and honest “straightforward woman” to a warm-hearted individual who embraces her partner’s deep scars, delivering both excitement and emotion to the small screen.
In episodes 9 and 10 of ‘What Else is Love’ broadcast on the 17th and 18th, Jo A-ram played Park Su-ah, an employee in the confectionery TF snack team 3 at Hunmin Confectionery, intricately bringing to life the emotions of a character becoming honest in front of love.
On this day’s broadcast, Park Su-ah showed a bold and direct advance without hiding her feelings for Nam Gong-ho (played by Seo Kang-joon). She displayed a reverse charm by casually suggesting physical contact only to act shy the moment their eyes met, while also showing a strong side by standing up against Han Tae-seung (played by Lee Joo-ahn) to protect Nam Gong-ho. In particular, Park Su-ah heightened pink-tinted excitement to the maximum by giving Nam Gong-ho a direct confession, saying, “The deputy is my first love.”
The three-dimensional emotional acting hidden behind the sweet romance also shone. Park Su-ah, who shed tears while confessing the scar of being abandoned by her father in the past, left a deep lingering resonance by gently covering Nam Gong-ho’s eyes so that he could shed tears comfortably. At the end of the broadcast, an ending where Park Su-ah opened her eyes on Nam Gong-ho’s bed and unexpectedly ran into Lee Mi-do (played by Ahn Eun-jin) raised curiosity about future developments.
Jo A-ram completed the character of Park Su-ah more realistically by delicately adjusting her unstoppable dialogue tone, shyly wavering gaze, and even restrained breathing. Critics noted that she heightened the drama’s immersion by delicately traversing the temperature difference between confidence and clumsiness.
