Having portrayed Apello fashion platform CEO Kang Ha-gi in the office romance series that wrapped up on September 8, the actor shared his fresh perspective on stepping into a leading role after 12 years in the industry. Reflecting on the positive reception from viewers across South Korea, he admitted that while stepping into a first romantic-comedy lead role brought a healthy sense of pressure, it ultimately allowed him to approach the set with greater comfort and enjoyment.
Why Kang Hoon Wants to Filming More Romance Now
Discussing his desire to focus heavily on the romance genre moving forward, Kang Hoon explained his belief that the present moment captures his youth and best visual appeal. He noted that because he wants to showcase his best looks while he is at his youngest, romantic comedies provide the ideal platform to lead a series from start to finish. Giving his own performance a score of 70 out of 100, the actor pointed out minor regrets regarding execution and experience with leading roles, yet expressed eagerness to grow further. Looking ahead to his current work on the upcoming historical fusion drama Secret Chronicles of Suseonggung and his comedic role in Hot Goodbye, Kang Hoon remains focused on delivering diverse characters and deeply connecting with international and domestic fans alike through his upcoming television projects.
