Daylight Saving Time ends β€” Clocks Fall Back and Flight Schedules Change

Daylight Saving Time ends

Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. on the 1st, prompting residents to set their clocks back by one hour to 1 a.m.

With this time change, the time difference between the U.S. Eastern region and South Korea will increase from 13 hours to 14 hours. When it is 9 a.m. in New York, it will be 11 p.m. on the same day in South Korea.

While smartphones and other devices with automatic time-sync features will update on their own, traditional wall clocks and certain home appliances must be adjusted manually.

Flight schedules for South Korea’s three major carriers on New York-Incheon routes will also be adjusted. According to a comparison of flight schedules before and after the end of Daylight Saving Time on the flight tracking website FlightsFrom, Korean Air flight KE082 from JFK Airport to Incheon will depart one hour earlier, moving from 1 p.m. to noon. Flight KE086 will maintain its 11 p.m. departure time.

Asiana Airlines flight OZ221 from JFK to Incheon will be moved forward by one hour from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., while flight OZ223 will keep its midnight (0:30 a.m.) departure.

Air Premia flight YP132 from Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey to Incheon will have its departure time moved up from 1 a.m. to 12:01 a.m.
