A collaboration between the agency representing actress Lee Young-ae and the agency behind girl group Mamamoo is drawing significant attention regarding the kind of synergy it will create.
KHS Agency announced on the 27th that it has signed a strategic business agreement with production company RBW. The two companies plan to jointly plan overseas business ventures for artists and IP-based content by combining KHS Agency’s strategic network with RBW’s production infrastructure.
RBW is an entertainment company housing artists such as Mamamoo, Oh My Girl, Kwon Eun-bi, and Oneus, continuously strengthening its K-pop IP competitiveness across music, performances, and overall content based on a multi-label system. Furthermore, following its partnerships with Cube Entertainment and K-Plus, KHS Agency has further expanded its ‘win-win agency alliance’ by joining hands with RBW.
Currently, KHS Agency manages overseas expansion, contract negotiations, and IP businesses for various clients, including actors Lee Young-ae, Choi Myung-gil, and Hwang Jung-min, singers Bada, Hong Jin-young, and Luna, directors Im Soon-rye, Lee Byung-hun, and Son Jae-gon, and writers Cho Yoon-young and Cho Myung-jin. Through this agreement, the agency plans to apply this accumulated experience to RBW artists, supporting broadcasting, advertising, brand campaigns, and overseas projects while strengthening its business foundation in the K-pop sector.
Kang Ho-sung, CEO of KHS Agency and former CEO of CJ ENM, stated that the meeting of KHS Agency’s total agency know-how and RBW’s artist and production capabilities will create massive synergy. He added that they will continue to expand global business opportunities for K-talent and K-content alongside leading domestic entertainment companies.
An RBW representative expressed that KHS Agency’s extensive network and global capabilities will provide tremendous momentum for RBW artists to expand their active stages globally.
Following this agreement, KHS Agency and RBW plan to successively unveil specific joint projects. Meanwhile, Lee Young-ae is set to star in the upcoming drama ‘Jae-i’s Young-in’, reuniting with Yoo Ji-tae 25 years after their collaboration in the film ‘One Fine Spring Day’. The work portrays the story of a man and a woman who share similar scars as they learn how to live again together.
Mamamoo is currently touring the globe to meet international fans, having successfully wrapped up their Malaysia tour and Japan concerts. They plan to bring a magnificent grand finale to their world tour ‘4WARD’ in Taipei on the 28th and 29th of next month.
