Group NMIXX held a meaningful comeback celebration party with fans and signaled a new leap forward.
Released on the 19th, their 6th mini album ‘Strange Muse’ and title track ‘Birthday Wish’ entered the Melon Top 100 chart at No. 34 on the day of release, breaking their own group record. By midnight on the 20th, they climbed up to No. 5, proving their explosive popularity.
NMIXX held a countdown live broadcast via official SNS channels at 4:10 PM on the 19th. The members greeted fans warmly by saying, “Autumn has already arrived as we worked hard to prepare an album that feels like a gift. NMIXX will take charge of our fandom NSWER’s autumn this year as well, so please look forward to it.” They then hosted a segment where they searched for a missing celebration cake through telepathy and quick-wit games.
They also shared behind-the-scenes stories about their first unit tracks. Lily and Haewon introduced ‘Sing to the Moon (LILY, HAEWON)’, saying, “Since it’s a song with various possible interpretations, it would be great to listen from your own perspective and immerse yourselves in the emotions.” Sullyoon and Bae described ‘Hot ‘n Unbothered (SULLYOON, BAE)’ as “a song that brings out the synergy and atmosphere created when the two of us are together.” Jiwoo and Kyujin expressed special affection for ‘WHIP (JIWOO, KYUJIN)’, stating, “It was a difficult song both when we first heard it and when we recorded it, but we pulled it off well. We put a lot of effort into it and participated directly in the production, making it even more meaningful.”
The atmosphere heated up with a fan communication segment recommending gifts based on stories, talks about group tracks ‘Kerosene’ and ‘RudE TaLK’, and an album unboxing. After finally recovering the cake, the members expressed their wishes, saying, “We prepared hard for this comeback with a lot of love. We hope this is a promotional period where all our long-held wishes come true, and we will do our best happily, so please show lots of support,” and “We hope autumn is a season where both NMIXX and NSWER can see all their wishes come true,” finishing the broadcast.
Attention is now focused on how this new album ‘Strange Muse’ and title track ‘Birthday Wish’, which prove their outstanding vocal capabilities and expanded music spectrum, will color the domestic music scene this fall.
