Sempio Samgyetang Recall — USDA Announces 4,600 Pounds of Imported Chicken Stew Recalled

Sempio Samgyetang recall

Sempio Food Service in Cerritos is recalling approximately 4,596 pounds of imported Korean Sempio Samgyetang recall products, according to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The recall was initiated because the products did not undergo the mandatory import reinspection required upon entering the country.

The affected items include 31.75-ounce packages of ‘Sempio Korean Ginseng Chicken Stew Classic’ and ‘Sempio Korean Ginseng Chicken Stew Rich,’ produced on March 30, with a use-by date of September 29, 2027.

FSIS discovered the lack of reinspection during routine surveillance. To date, no illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported.

Consumers who have purchased these products are advised not to consume them, but to discard them or return them to the place of purchase. Retailers have also been asked to halt sales.
